Add Staff users to different security groups

(Ref ASD 52185)

Tutorial document

Notes:

The Admin groups are the ones that have permissions to add other users to security groups.

The Staff groups can view the rest of the available Avalon setup, but cannot allocate users to groups.

When a user is added to two Staff groups that both have Deny permissions, the Deny permission overrides any Allow edit permissions they may have. This means that the user will not be able to edit, regardless of the other permissions assigned.

1165 - Members of this security group have view access to user details, the ability to access invoices list and details, and can perform refunds. These users also have access to financial reports. However, they cannot access the Data upload menu and screen.

1174 - Members of this security group have view access to user details and the invoices list and details; they cannot process refunds. These users can access the Data Upload menu and screen and can upload user lists.

To attach a PDF in GitBook, you need to upload it as a file and then link to it within your content.

  1. Uploading the PDF: Navigate to the "Files" panel within your GitBook space. This panel is typically found at the top of your space's table of contents. Drag and drop your PDF file into the designated upload area, or use the "browse" option to select the file from your system. GitBook allows you to upload individual files up to 100MB in size.

  2. Linking to the Uploaded PDF: Once the PDF is uploaded, you can create a link to it within your GitBook content:

    1. Insert a Link: Within the page where you want to link to the PDF, position your cursor where you want the link to appear.

    2. Open the Link Menu: Type forward slash [ / ] and the menu will appear

    3. Look for 'ADVANCED BLOCKS'

    4. Select Insert files

    5. Search for the File: Start typing the name of your uploaded PDF file. GitBook will display search results from your uploaded files.

    6. Select: Choose the correct PDF file from the search results and click on the file to create the link.

    7. This will create a clickable link in your GitBook content that, when clicked, will open the attached PDF file for the readers.
