Configure category display in Sitefinity

This is applicable to non-default catalogues where categories display can vary.

This article illustrates how configuration can be made in Sitefinity. Login credentials to Sitefinity is required.

1. Using the following setup in Avalon where we have created a catalogue that has Categories added (example: Clubbers & Diners, Family Fun Bonding, Hobbies & Interest)

1. In Sitefinity for a page create a page that will display only particular Package Categories.

2. Login to Sitefinity. Navigate to Pages tab.

3. Locate the page where you want to display a group of packages -> Edit Page -> Locate Package List widget on the page -> Click on the Edit button.

1. When the Package Categories widget is open for edit, you will see the following options available:

1. Please take notice of the FilterCategoriesByCatalogueDisplayId field, enter the ID of the Catalogue created in Avalon (in our example id=1). Save the Package Categories settings changes -> then Publish the page.

1. The result in the front end is that only the Categories that were added to the Catalogue which we selected to filter by are displayed, as shown in the screenshot below:
